Top Five
“Black Woman Walking” By Tracey Rose
This is an interesting video that discusses the plight of women who get hit on while simply walking down the street.

The Dress Code

This is an article about dress at HBCUs.

Scout Tufankjian
This person is a photographer who has taken pictures of the Obama campaign. Click on the link to see his photos…they are fantastic. If I wasn’t a grad student I would definitely purchase some of his prints…though there is this one print of a supporter that I really like…um.

On the Road: Grand Junction, Colorado
A great article about the math of canvasing. 12 contacts will produce one new voter for your side.

Fratto insisted that the plan was not slapped together and had been drawn up as a contingency over previous months and weeks by administration officials.” Something about that sentence does not sit well with me. This is the type of thing that happens when Congress does not fulfill their job of executive oversight.

Oldies But Goodie
McCain’s Daddy Yankee Endorsement
I’m reconsidering being a Daddy Yankee fan…I lived with the lyrics but this?!?! I don’t know.

The Vision Splendid
Includes video of Dr. King’s I Have A Dream Speech and Obama’s acceptance speech.

Lawsuit Takes Aim at College’s Billing Practices for Study Abroad: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/09/education/09studyabroad.html?ex=1205812800&en=524308ecf4d36ea4&ei=5070
I always thought that the practice they decribe in the article was unfair. At Spelman you paid the fee of the program plus a modest Study Abroad administrative fee.

I have to say that I like Rep Waxman. Someone in Congress is doing their job and taking political risks on behalf of the people.

A resource for undecided voters. Only standard charges apply.

John McCain Political ad:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_A53PAxeR8
I have to say that this is a good ad for what it is. Though I don’t agree with McCain on a lot of issues…this is a good ad. I just hope he doesn’t go too negative in his bid for the presidency.

Should Flordia and Michigan Have DoOvers? http://www.care2.com/politics/should-florida-and-michigan-have-do-.html
My short answer is no! I have said before that the state parties, national representatives and governors knew what was going to happen when the consequences of moving up the primaries were presented and they did not say ANYTHING, not in public at least. Florida and Michigan messed up… ce la vie. I’m sorry but maybe you should vote out your STATE democratic party officials for their actions. To allow do-overs is screwing over the 48 states and 2-3 territories that followed the rules- 50+ vs 2…you do the math.

Hillary Clinton’s Xenophobia (Part II): http://www.theglobalist.com/DBWeb/StoryId.aspx?StoryId=6858
Part two at the end gets to one of the biggest reasons why I do not support Sen. Clinton- she is a divider just like George W. Bush.

This was a good article looking at the issue. Just note when reading that the author does not have a lot of space to explain everything.
