Blog Organizing: Oldies But Goodies

So I have been doing a lot of cleaning and upgrading on my blog this month and this includes looking into the post drafts that I have. While, looking to the drafts I found some old links that I was not able to share. Well since they were already drafted I thought I would put this post together to share.

Enjoy the Oldies But Goodies!

Think Again: Networks to Women: “Never on Sunday”

Another reason why I very sporadically catch news & information from the Big 6: ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, & NBC. If you want to hear diverse voices check out PBS or Democracy Now (My views are center left so I am unsure of more center and right sources that also present more diverse perspectives but I’m sure they exist).

Ladies Roll Through Primaries in Arkansas, Nevada, and California

This article may be true in the 4-5 women they highlight here BUT don’t let that confuse you into thinking that the United States is making ANY significant progress when it comes to increasing the percentage of women in formal politics. The United States is tied at 69 with Turkmenistan according to the World Parliamentary Union’s Women in Parliament ranking.

Death to All Black TV Shows (Except the Ones Made By Tyler Perry)
It is really sad that as the diversity of the United States is growing the diversity of network television is decreasing. We as citizens should not have to go to BET (my issues with this network I will save for another day) to see shows with “black folks” or go to Univision to see shows with “latinos.” To all the political pundits and people that claimed racism/race issues in the United States died with the election of President Obama, this story is only part of my argument that counter those statements.
